GiGi's Playhouse Charleston: Believing in the Power of Possibility

We are proud and excited to join the Mt. Pleasant Chamber as one of its newest members! GiGi's Playhouse Charleston is more than a nonprofit — we are a free achievement center dedicated to changing the way the world views Down syndrome and other developmental differences, and to sending a global message of acceptance for all.

As the first GiGi's Playhouse location in South Carolina, we are proud to be part of a national network of more than 60 centers. Our doors — located in North Charleston, just off I-526 — are open to individuals of all ages, from infants to adults, along with their families and caregivers. Every program we offer is provided completely free of charge, made possible through the generosity of our community, volunteers, and partners.

Our programs support educational, therapeutic, social, and career goals at every stage of life. From early childhood development and literacy to tutoring, fitness, social connection, and job-readiness training through initiatives like GiGi Kitchen, we meet participants where they are and help them build confidence, independence, and lasting friendships — celebrating every individual for exactly who they are.
