Heirloom Receives Award from the SC Secretary of Veterans Affairs

Mount Pleasant, SC - March 18, 2024

Heirloom, a veteran-owned small business specializing in digitizing precious memories, was honored by the South Carolina Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Major General (Ret.) Todd B. McCaffrey, as he inducted the company into the prestigious Gold level of the Veteran Friendly Employer Recognition Program. This recognition comes as a testament to Heirloom's outstanding commitment to recruiting, training, and employing veterans.

Secretary McCaffrey was nominated by Governor Henry McMaster and unanimously confirmed by the South Carolina Senate in March of 2023. After 34 years of exceptional service to the US Army, he now leads and enables a state-wide coalition of partners to create and sustain an environment in which Veterans and their families can thrive as valued and contributing members of the South Carolina community and the Nation. “I love how the Veteran-team at Heirloom continues to serve”, says McCaffrey.

Heirloom was founded by two retired US Navy officers, Geoff Weber and John Rahahgi, who each earned a commission as US intelligence officers immediately following the 9/11 attacks on America. They’re proud to have served alongside some of the nation’s best men and women, and now build a company that continues to protect what’s priceless. The company's CEO, Geoff Weber, expressed his gratitude, stating, "My brothers and sisters know what it means to serve. We've been trained to defend, even with our very lives if required."

Heirloom provides a vital service to families across America by digitizing cherished memories stuck on obsolete formats such as videotapes, printed photographs, and old film reels. Using a secure shipping box from their nearest UPS Store, customers conveniently send their outdated media to Heirloom's facility in South Carolina. Once received, Heirloom's veteran team meticulously transfers the contents to a secure cloud platform, ensuring these precious memories stream from any device, for countless generations.

The recognition from the VA Secretary underscores Heirloom's unwavering commitment to both veterans and preserving the invaluable memories that define our collective heritage.
