East Cooper Habitat for Humanity Announces Annual Women's Build Event
Empowering Women to Build Strength, Stability, and Self-Reliance Through Shelter
Mount Pleasant, SC — East Cooper Habitat for Humanity (ECHFH) is proud to announce its
annual Women's Build event, scheduled for May 6th through May 10th, 2025, at 580 Society
Road, McClellanville, SC. This initiative invites women from across the community to come
together to construct a home for a local woman and her family, fostering empowerment and
community support.
For many years, East Cooper Habitat Women Builds have been breaking bias to empower
women to create a gender-equal world that is diverse, equitable and inclusive.
Women - particularly women of color - face disproportionate access to opportunity, which can
affect their ability to find a decent place to live. Housing affordability is a crucial women's issue.
Through the construction experience, Women Build encourages volunteers and financial
supporters to challenge stereotypes, fight all forms of inequality and advocate for themselves
and each other.
In light of the challenges we face in 2025, ECHFH remains steadfast in its commitment to
supporting affordable housing within the local community. The Women's Build event exemplifies
this dedication, providing opportunities for both individual participation and corporate
sponsorships. Companies can sponsor entire days on the worksite, offering their employees a
rewarding day of teamwork and community service. Individual volunteers are also encouraged
to join!
