MPPC opens scholarship apps
Moultrie News 2/26/25
The Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce (MPCC) is now accepting applications for the 2025 Joe Brinson Scholarship, open to high school seniors residing East of the Cooper. This year, MPCC will award two $2,000 scholarships, continuing its commitment to supporting students pursuing higher education. Applications are due March 7 and the recipients will be recognized at the April 24 Chamber Luncheon.
The Joe Brinson Scholarship honors the memory of Mount Pleasant resident Joe Brinson, who dedicated over 30 years to the electrical industry and played a vital role in education throughout the Carolinas, including his work with the Construction Education Foundation.
"Receiving the Joe Brinson Scholarship from the MPCC has been a tremendous honor and a true game-changer for my college experience,” said last year’s recipient, Jason Gould. “Now in my first year at Emory University, I’ve been able to fully dedicate myself to pursuing my interests in medicine and music. This support has allowed me to take on challenging coursework, develop my laboratory skills at school and explore my passion for music through radio broadcasting and continued piano study. The opportunities I’ve been able to access, both academically and creatively, have been invaluable. I’m incredibly grateful for the Chamber’s investment in my future and I hope the next recipient finds this scholarship as transformative as I have. Thank you for empowering students like me to dream big and achieve more."
