Lowcountry mayors meet for second annual Mayor’s Forum
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The mayors of Charleston, North Charleston and Mount Pleasant are working together to help the Lowcountry as a whole. The Mayor’s Forum returned for a second year Tuesday morning. The event aims to connect elected leaders with local community and business leaders. This year, leaders came together to talk about the priorities and initiatives that benefit local businesses. “The Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce very much believes in building business and community success east of the Cooper, but also the Lowcountry. And one way to do that is to have engaging conversations with our elected officials about topics important to them,” said Rebecca Imholz, executive director of the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce. Leaders say this isn’t the only collaborative project they have planned. The chamber will launch its “Leadership Mount Pleasant” initiative in January.
