Holistic spa celebrates recent opening

Moultrie News August 1, 2024

Individually-tailored healing and wellness should no longer be deemed rare luxuries, according to staff members at North Mount Pleasant's newest massage and facial hot spot, Magnolia Spa.

Mother and daughter co-founders Elizabeth Engelhart and April Smith were joined by family members, friends and fellow employees on July 30 to celebrate Magnolia Spa's recent opening at 3090 N. Highway 17 alongside Town Council members and Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce reps.

Attendees were treated to a rundown of the healing center's services prior to the outdoor ribbon-cutting ceremony, as Engelhart and her husband, Joe, highlighted individual and couple's massage therapy, as well as an assortment of facials, aromatherapy, body treatments, sauna and red-light therapy, designed to stimulate collagen and muscle building.

The 9-person staff includes five licensed massage therapists and three licensed estheticians.

"Our biggest motto is: You deserve this," said Smith, who relocated with her family from Seattle to the Carolina Park area a little over two years ago, as both she and mother Elizabeth — a former 25-year realtor — graduated from Southeastern College's massage therapy and therapeutic massage program in

"Everyone deserves to have a massage or a facial just to have that moment of taking care of themselves, not only physically, but mentally," continued Engelhart.

The 3,100 square-foot venue located inside the Ivy Hall shopping area is comprised of two levels of private massage and facial rooms in an immaculately clean and serene environment.

The second floor is available to groups seeking space for corporate gatherings, as well as bridal and baby showers. During these private events, guests are accommodated with slippers and bathrobes, along with charcuterie catering provided by Graze Craze.

In addition, Magnolia Spa sells an assortment of cutting-edge, US-manufactured Epicuren cosmetics, cream cleansers, exfoliants, toners, enzymes and more.

The spa's décor features artwork from local artists and fragrant non-toxic Charleston Marsh candles.

As the new family-owned and operated business continues to find its footing in the community, Smith stated that the plan is to continue collaborating with neighboring companies in cross-promoting their products and services.
