Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce President Kathi Herrmann’s glowing rundown of yearly highlights relative to her business support organization earned her and her colleagues the distinct recognition of being presented with the Business Appreciation Month Proclamation by Town government.
During Herrmann’s appearance at the Sept. 10 Mount Pleasant Town Council meeting, along with Chamber Director Rebecca Imholz, Town Administrator Eric DeMoura cited the local chamber office for its efforts in contributing to the growth and economic health of the community.
The formal presentation was preceded by Herrmann’s State of the Chamber, which featured the organization’s hosting of 150 events and meetings in 2024, along with 26 ribbon-cuttings.
The Chamber spokesperson further elaborated on a new program in which military Veterans and business leaders will network on Veteran-owned businesses, starting in November aboard the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point.
Herrmann went on to fill in attendees on the Chamber’s partnerships with the Mount Pleasant Fire Department and the Just Bee autism advocacy group. In addition, she mentioned the formation of the East Cooper Hospitality Council, which will be discussing challenges the hospitality industry is faced with in terms of transportation resources.
Listeners were also reminded to tune into the Chamber’s monthly podcast, which brings on guests who dispense useful business advice.
Up next for the Chamber is its biggest event of the year, known as the 14th Annual Business & Community Expo on Sept. 26 at the Omar Shrine Temple, starting at 11 a.m. The business community gathering will include an assortment interactive exhibitor booths and vendors.
Hermann concluded her summary by thanking Mayor Will Haynie and members of council for attending the Chamber’s Aug. 29 ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new location at 534 Johnnie Dodds Blvd, Ste. 101.
“We thank you so much for coming. You’re a wonderful municipal partner and we appreciate your support. You enable us to have such an important presence in Mount Pleasant,” said Herrmann.
