Capping off a banner year

The Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce (MPPC) Dec. 14 end-of-year luncheon at Alhambra Hall was a day of recognition and gratitude, as Katrina Garrison of Pinnacle Financial Partners was honored as Member of the Year with a plaque presented by Chamber President Jennifer Maxwell.

Mount Pleasant Police Department Chief Mark Arnold was another hardware recipient, as he accepted an award on behalf of P.O. Ransom Waters, who was applauded for employing CPR in saving the life of a local school cafeteria worker.

MPCC’s 2023 and incoming 2024 board members were also recognized — including President-Elect Kathi Hermann — before the organization’s President Emeritus Chris Staubes introduced the Lucy Beckham High School Jazz Ensemble, who entertained attendees with an assortment of Christmas standards.
