South Carolina Ports Authority owns and operates the Port of Charleston, Port of Georgetown, Inland Port Greer and Inland Port Dillon. SC Ports promotes, develops and facilities waterborne commerce to meet the current and future needs of its customers, and for the economic benefit of the citizens and businesses of South Carolina. As the 8th largest U.S. container port, SC Ports proactively invests in infrastructure ahead of demand. SC Ports has invested more than $2 billion in recent years to enhance capabilities and capacity, yielding modern terminals, new cargo capacity, the deepest harbor on the East Coast and an expansive rail network. SC Ports serves as a vital economic engine for the Southeast. In South Carolina, port operations support 1 in 10 jobs, generate a $63.4 billion annual economic impact and generate over $1.1 billion in tax revenue annually for the state.
