Speaker: Ted Fienning
Ted grew up in Sumter, S.C., graduated from Sumter High, spent the following year as a Rotary Club foreign exchange scholar in central Brazil, and graduated from Harvard College in 2001.
While working as a management consultant with the Parthenon Group in Boston, MA after graduation, terrorists attacked the United States on September 11th, 2001 and Ted joined the Marines where he served ten years on active duty as a day and night carrier-qualified F/A-18 pilot.
Ted co-founded Babiators.com with three friends from college in 2011 and remains on the board today. Babiators is a children’s consumer products company focused primarily on baby sunglasses, and currently employes seven people and sells in over 30 countries worldwide.
Ted remains in the Marine Corps Reserve, having flown C-12 executive transports (KingAir 350s) for 13 years in the reserves. He deployed twice to Europe in support of Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa in 2021 and 2024.
As a serial entrepreneur, Ted has developed commercial real estate across South Carolina, including as principal investor and developer on six buildings on King Street.
Ted currently consults for the Charleston Regional Aviation Authority and is working with a local orthopedic surgeon as co-founder of Revolution Pain Therapy, Inc., manufacturer of TheraLoop pain therapy devices. RPT, Inc. just completed a seed round of funding in January 2026, has filed for patents, trademarks, is testing prototypes, and plans on beginning sales spring 2026.
Ted has two sons, 14 and 10, that are active in scouting (Troop 50), church (Grace Church Cathedral) and their neighborhood (Wagener Terrace). Ted holds the FAAs highest rating of Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) and welcomes others to fly with him out of Charleston Executive Airport on John’s Island or to come try swimming with Citadel Underwater Rugby.
