The American Legion Post 136 sincerely appreciates your past willingness to support the Palmetto Boys State program.  The American Legion’s Boys State program is a unique way for young men to learn about the American system of government and politics by participating in a mock governmental system.

Palmetto Boys State is the top program in the country thanks to the unique learning environment. In addition to participating in a mock government system, Boys Staters have the unique opportunity to explore potential career paths through our different schools including the Performing Arts School, Criminal Justice Academy, and Law School.

Through the unique and engaging experiences at Palmetto Boys State we believe boys become young men and the future leaders of our State and Country.Palmetto Boys State participants complete through local American Legion Posts to earn scholarships to attend.

Palmetto Boys State participants compete through local American Legion Posts to earn scholarships to attend.  The cost for sponsoring a student for the week is $300.00. We would sincerely appreciate your help in providing this experience to as many students as possible

Moultrie Post 136 is committed to sponsor 10-20 boys from all public and private schools in the East Cooper area.  Our goal is to sponsor boys from every high school in Mount Pleasant. Please help us by supporting this exciting goal!
