As these nerve cells break down\, people gradually lose the ability to walk\, speak\, eat\, and eventually breathe. Today ALS is 100% fatal and affects about 1 in 300 people\, impacting not only those diagnosed but also their families and loved ones.\n\nOur mission is to change that. We believe ALS can be transformed from a fatal diagnosis into a livable disease and ultimately cured. By accelerating research and technology and improving treatments and care\, we are working toward a future where every person diagnosed with ALS immediately has access to effective therapies\, clinical trials\, and comprehensive support.
