DESCRIPTION:The Bands of Wando Foundation will hold our Charity Gala on Friday\, February 16\, 2024. Our goal at this event is to raise funds needed to support the band\, color guard\, music lessons scholarships\, program enrichment funds\, as well as the purchase of musical instruments and for the high-quality music and marching arts education programs at Wando High School\, Cario Middle School\, and Laing Middle School. Participating in band and the marching arts has wide-reaching benefits: it improves concentration and academic attainment\, contributes to higher self-esteem\, and\, most importantly\, raises children's expectations of what they can achieve in all areas of their lives. The Bands of Wando Foundation seeks to help develop students' life skills\, foster empathy\, reflect community identity and social progress\, and open a gateway for higher education through our support of musical and marching arts education.
